TASK 2A //Key Artwork
Task:  We can use the initial letters of our name or our full name, i.e., Onn Aditya Hussein, OAH, OA. Explore and compose as many permutations and combinations of these initials. The final key artwork must be an elegant solution, not complicated or confusing that leads to a functional and communicable key artwork.

Digitization

When I see this task, I was thinking of what is my second occupation and also what is my hobby. How can they related to my artwork. Then, I think of a hobby which is Calligraphy because I write calligraphy very often when I am studying high school. I tried to combined calligraphy with my initials logo and the first and second is the results.

Then, on the third design, I made it because I like plants, my house is full of different types of plants and I was thinking of I can open a plant shop or what. Then the fourth one is came with when I try to combined these two letters, I found that this is quite nice and this reminds me of cloths brand or what (hahaha).

I wanted to try with calligraphy again so I did another key artwork that related to calligraphy too and I think these two letters combined well.

TASK 2B // Collateral
Task: We have to design a poster, an animated invite and one collateral items of our choosing, using the key artwork developed in Task 2(A). We have to work on the poster first and fine-tune the outcomes before going on to the animated invite and other collateral material.

Poster Design

This reason I made a ribbon throughout the poster is because I think ribbon is similar with calligraphy that has a very thick stroke connect with thin stroke. So when I seeing this ribbon it reminds me of calligraphy.

First Attempt

Second Attempt
Based on the feedback, I enlarge the keywork and crop part of it as the background. Then, I re-composition the details.

Animated Invite
Before animating in after effects , I first think how my key artwork should be animated first. Then, I started to look for tutorials that can make the effects that I want and learn from it.

FEEDBACK

Week 7 13/5/22
General feedback: Be aware of using color, color must be solid color instead of soft color
Specific Feedback: the first one has too much negative space. I should explore more because now exploration is not enough.

Week 9 27/5/22

General feedback: Element in poster should be inspired by our key artwork. Make sure we done this task by this week

Specific feedback: Key artwork is nice but my poster font was too big and didn’t utilities what I have learned from typographic system. I can use my key artwork as background and crop it bigger to just see part of it. Then, placed my text and also place a complete key artwork on right bottom of the poster plus our name

REFLECTIONS

Experiences
I think this task is quite interesting because we are able to design our own unique key artwork using our names and I think this is cool. I feel satisfied when seeing the final
key artwork and I think it's really represented me.

Observations
I observed that it is not a easy process to do a key artwork, because it is a artwork that has meaning and representing ourselves. I observed that with our key artwork, it makes me feel more confidents and I think that the most important is ourselves must like the design.

Findings
I found that key artwork or logo is a very important element to a company or a brand. It represent the entire things and people will usually see the logo first. I have learn a lot from this task especially making the unique key artwork and also learn to make collateral and it makes me feel a sense of achievement.
