PROJECT
Week 2: For this week, I came out with some ideas and consulted with Mr
Asrizal and Mr Razif.

Week 3
Business Model
For this week, I did a business model for all 3 ideas that Mr Razif said are
workable.
Figure 1.1: Business Model 1 (Food Recipe App)
Figure 1.2: Business Model 2(Healthcare app)
Figure 1.3: Business Model 3(Price Tracker app)
I chose the Food Recipe App after this because it can be creative and
workable. And so, I began my progress on developing the app.

Logo
For the app name, I named it "Comfoodtable" as I want to make people feel
cosiness and comfortable while using the app for cooking.

Mascot
I use egg as the character because the egg is one of the commonly used
ingredients in cooking. I named it "Eggie". This mascot will appear in the
app to celebrate the happiness when the user successfully cooks the dishes,
and it will also provide some useful tips for the user regarding
cooking.

FEEDBACK
Week 2(First Consultation w/Mr Asrizal):
Mr Asrizal said that the way I thought of ideas was a bit wrong as I was
thinking of "I want to do an app" and only thought about what app I wanted
to do. Instead of thinking like that, he asked me to first identify problems
people encounter about user experiences in their lives, only thinking about
what I can do to solve them as a UIUX Designer.
Week 2(Second Consultation w/Mr Asrizal):
He mentioned that my ideas relied on people's databases, which I needed help
to solve. He assigned me to Mr Razif as my supervisor and asked me to show
him my ideas.
Week 2(Consultation w/ Mr Razif): Overall 3 out of 4 ideas are all workable,
He asked me to do a business model on each idea, and I can explore more on
it and see which one I prefer to continue.
Week 3(1st Consultation w/Mr Razif): 3 ideas seem ok, the first idea he
suggested was to collaborate with some merchants to give coupons or vouchers
for customer relationships, He also suggested that I do a survey on it to
understand which one did people like. The second idea is the
healthcare app, he suggested I narrow down my target audience to specific
patients like diabetes or heart disease patients so that the app could focus
more on the particular field.
Week 4:
Mr Razif asked me to think of what input can be used in my app, which may
enhance or improve user experience. Such as Voice input, type input, click
input etc...
Week 5:
Mr Razif said that I could think of another way to let people input their
ingredients more conveniently so that they would be willing to use the app.
So I think scanning the ingredients to input the items into the app is important. He
asked me to find AI APIs that are doing this and think about how can I
refine their user interface and use it in my app.
Week 6:
Mr Razif said currently the wireframe is currently okay, keep working on it,
and also explore how I'm going to visualise my input method(Scan items to
identify items using the camera). He suggested I record a video to
demonstrate the process of scanning and make sure it looks real.
Week 9:
Mr Razif said that the demo video should be placed in full-screen size so
that it looks real. He also suggested adding "Recently used ingredient" to
my home page. Then, he said that I could modify my mascot a bit because the
current one looks sad.
Week 10:
Mr Razif said that we must explain or do it in a detailed way because we
must rest every user using our apps is a very beginner and knows nothing
about your app. He said we have to guide them to use the app. The spacing of
the home page could be more so that users feel breathable.
Week 11: (1st Presentation)
Ms Anis was questioned "What is the difference between your app and other
recipe apps in the market", I answered that the AR scanning ingredients is
the unique selling point of the app because other recipe apps provide manual
entering of the ingredients.
Mr Zeon has suggested that I do the whole flow after saving the ingredient
to the list and can show the home screen is changing based on the added
ingredients.
Mr Kannan suggested making it an actual app with coding and also having a
daily "Highlight Recipes"
Week 11: (Consultation with Mr Razif)
After the presentation, I had a consultation with Mr Razif and gave him the
other lecturer's feedback on my presentation. He said that it is best to
have an actual app with coding but since we are a front-end developer, we
should focus more on the user interface. He suggested making it more solid
by adding some minor animation to it, not just dissolve/move-in effects.
REFLECTIONS
In the very final module of the journey of studying bachelor's degree, I got mixed feelings because I was glad that it was finally over but at the same time, we were stepping into the next milestone. It makes me feel insecure and lost.
Developing this app has been an exciting journey. The idea of helping users create meals from the ingredients they already have while integrating innovative AR technology has been both challenging and rewarding. Throughout the process, the goal was to make cooking more accessible and enjoyable, with Eggie adding a fun, supportive touch. Seeing the app come together has reinforced the importance of user-friendly design and the potential of technology to simplify everyday tasks. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited for users to experience it!
This project was a very independent working journey because the supervisor was just giving some feedback, and we needed to be more productive and self-disciplined to make sure we were done on time.
It was way different than the previous semester because we were all on our own.
