TASK 3: TYPE DESIGN AND COMMUNICATION // Week 9 - 14 // 27/5-1/7-2022

Rationale:

My idea is inspired by 'Pepero' packaging title and I try to develop a typeface that

slanted in the same angle and also rounded corners in the same way. I want it to look futuristic and can be used in sci-fi.

REFLECTIONS

Experiences

Overall throughout the whole semester, I learned a lot of advanced typography knowledge that was related to typography but a lot harder and complicated than typography obviously. But I appreciated it because from this module, I learned how to arrange the text layout, making our own key artwork and even products, and also developing a full set of typefaces. All of these tasks were all helping me to gain a lot of knowledge and improving my skills on typography. Overall I am quite satisfied with all of the outcomes that I designed and I know that typography was always essential in designing so It was important for us to learn it well as it will benefit ourselves in the future work.

Observations I observed that I am still not very good at arranging the layout and also sometimes I was not careful enough on checking the consistency in type design. These were the parts that I think I should improve on. I observed that type design was the most time-consuming task as we had to do a lot of refinement and also a variety of collateral.

Findings
I found that task 2 was my favorite among these tasks. This task gave us a lot of freedom and thinking time to develop a key artwork that belongs to ourselves. I think I might use it in my further work that needs logos. I found that there is always a behind story on every logo and branding. This takes a long process from research until development. In conclusion, I have learned a lot from Advanced Typography and also Typography. All of this knowledge will help me in every aspect of design.
